Carlos Ufret-Vincenty
Teacher/performer with Master's degree in music, guitar performance, from the Indiana Univeristy School of Music in Bloomington, IN. Carlos teaches a variety of styles, but mostly classical, rock (from pop to the pretty heavy stuff), and various Latin-American folk music styles. While studying and working as an Associate Instructor at Indiana University, Carlos taught guitar lessons to undergraduate students MAJORING in classical guitar, students minoring in jazz, as well as coaching guitar duos (classical chamber music), and teaching elective guitar lessons and classes (mostly rock --from Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Beatles,etc. to Radiohead, Metallica, Pantera, etc-- and classical guitar). Carlos also played with the IU Latin-American popular music ensemble, playing Brazilian sambas and bossa-novas, Argentinian "milongas" and tangos, Cuban "danzones", "boleros", etc. He also speaks Spanish. Zoey Szmulewitz
is one of Chicago's top guitar instructors, faculty at Old Town School of Music in Chicago and Music Gallery in Highland Park. He specializes in American music (jazz, blues, bluegrass, country) with an emphasis on fundamentals, musicianship, and improvisation. Beginners through advanced students are welcome. Zoey's main purpose is to help his students reach their musical goals in a nurturing, friendly atmosphere.
